Wallpaper: Mind Play

For screen resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels

Originally, my idea for this wallpaper is to put a Windows logo at the middle. I applied that actually but I was not satisfied with the result. A mind play occurred as I deleted the Windows logo. So here it is:

Tutorial: How To Create Complex Shapes In Adobe Illustrator

WIthout using the pen tool to draw, how would you ever produce a complex shape?

I'm not claiming that this is the best way nor this is the solution to your problem. Just take a look on what I usually do whenever I need shapes to be drawn without using the pen tool.

step 1:

Select shapes tool or press 'L' (ellipse tool) or 'M' (rectangle tool). I chose ellipse tool for this lesson.

step 2:

Select another type of shape to draw. With this lesson I just copied the first ellipse.

step 3:

Now, select the second shape and put it on top of the first shape. Leave it selected. Click on the Object option for the main menu then hover on Path then select Divide Object Below.

So you just performed: Object > Pacth > Divide Object Below

step 4:

Delete unwanted sections that you just made.

It's so simple right? No more pen tool used. Repeat the sequence so you'll achieved a more complex shape. For me, I did a cross-typed shape with arcs as its sides. Experiment with this lesson you just learned and you may also draw using pen then perform the process.
